There is a common saying that there are only things certain in life: deaths and taxes. This is only half true: all will suffer death; however, not all people pay taxes.
Actually, there are only two things certain that all people will face: death and judgment. The Bible says: “…… it is appointed for man to die once, but after this the judgment” (Heb. 9: 27).
The first thing certain, death, is no respecter of persons and this is a statistical fact. Death is a great common denominator. Every person, with but two exceptions, who has ever lived, has died.
Death is not concerned with a person’s wealth, wisdom, or personal, political or social status. death claims all.
The second thing certain, judgment, is also no respecter or persons.
The Bible says: “ So then each of us will give an account of himself to God” (Romans 14:12).
How then, do we prepare for death and judgment?
How to prepare for death I suggest the following: (1) make a will, (2) pay off debts so your family will not be burdened and, (3) make any funeral arrangements that family will have to make.
How to prepare for judgment, I suggest the following: avoid it altogether.. The Bible is very clear on how to do this. ” I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes Hiim who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned: he has crossed over from death to life ” (John 5 :24)
When we trust Jesus as our sacrifice for sins, we will never face the judgment and condemnation of God.
If you have not put your trust in Jesus, do it right now and thank Him for saving you.
If you are reading this account of God’s love for the first time but have no idea of what to do, let encourage you to say this simple prayer: “God, I do not know you, but I want to. Please send someone to help me, and I ask this in Jesus’s name.”
